In 2006, LACMA, which is a large museum next to the La Brea Tar Pits, started digging to create an underground parking garage. But when they started digging, workers found fossils - which is not unheard of near a tar pit. Sixteen fossils were discovered in total, including a mammoth. Here are some pictures from the fossil discovery project, called Project 23 - the project even has a little Halloween flair.
