1. The Fiesta Bowl Block Party is annually one of the best events to attend on New Year’s Eve in Phoenix. It’s family friendly, has a kooky chip drop at midnight, and it’s Arizona, so it’s always warmer than Times Square. I’d never been until I went this year with my friends, and I’ve got to say, it was pretty cool.

Since it’s family friendly there is no drinking on Mill Ave. (the street they shut down for the block party), but there are beer gardens and bars along the street you can pop into to imbibe some bubbly.

There’s fair games, a Ferris wheel, a dance floor and live bands to keep the attendees entertained.

We ended up listening to a not-so-great band at one of the beer gardens for most of the night and ringing in the new year with some Prosecco at Ra, a sushi restaurant. Cheers to 2012, may it be an amazing year for all.
