Traditional Louisiana eats: crawfish and a po’boy.
While in New Orleans my friend and I never stopped eating and drinking. I’ve already talked about the amazing Pimm’s Cups and food at Three Muses, but we also indulged ourselves on other Louisiana treats. I’ve got to say the crawfish were a bit creepy when the waiter put down a small canoe full of them on our table at Zydecos Cajun Kitchen. However, I’m glad I got over their creepy-crawly appearances because they were delicious. A cross between shrimp and lobster meat dipped in lemon butter sauce. It’s damn good.
On my last day, we stopped by Mahoney’s (my friend’s favorite po’boy shop). I’d have to say if I lived in NOLA, I’d be there all the time. Though the wait was a rather hefty 45 mins (to be fair, we were warned).
