Times Square. Also known as the biggest tourist trap on planet Earth.
Had to go. Had to leave once I got there. Though my new wide angle lens for my iPhone did give my photos a unique perspective on the place.
Looking at these pictures now and remembering how many people were there on a Saturday afternoon, I can’t imagine what it would be like on New Year’s Eve. I may be scratching that one off my bucket list…

Central Park on a warm, sunny Easter Sunday.
It seems as if everyone in the city decided to take a post-church or -brunch stroll in the Park, and I can’t blame them.

My grandpa came into town to help me move out and so I took him to the Hollywood Bowl overlook, which I’ve written about before.

My office offers some amazing views of La La Land. Here are a few of my favorites. In the left picture you can see the ocean, it’s that bright line where the horizon should be. You rarely see the ocean from anywhere in LA, but that day was particularly clear and it was gorgeous.

The skyline of downtown L.A. from the roof of The Standard hotel. Now they have a beer garden on the roof of this hotel. I need to try this out ASAP.

The view from SkyBar at the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood is not done justice by my little iPhone camera. But I think you can catch the drift. I was here covering an event for Variety’s VPage, but I’ve been here before and was glad to go back to get the nighttime panoramic views of LA. There’s almost nothing more entrancing than a city at night, especially one as complex, loud and at times obnoxious as LA. At night, with just the lights from the city shining, it looks beautiful and mystical. I can’t take my eyes off it.
If you have a chance to come here, I would suggest a weeknight, since it gets just as crowded as the LA streets on weekends.
