» A Catalan Christmas - NYTimes
The New York Times has a beautiful article on the Christmas traditions in Barcelona, Spain. My brief time in Barcelona was tainted by a very kind man who decided to steal many of my family’s possessions, but this article has made me want to go back over Christmas and feel the Spanish love.

The sand in Barcelona has thoughts. And it’s thinking, “Please don’t litter on me.” Effective and chuckle-inducing.

This is the Barcelona Head created by famous American pop artist Roy Lichtenstein. It was created in 1992 and has become, according to our tour guide, the mascot or quintessential “Barcelona” art work. It’s very intriguing, I didn’t spend much time in Barcelona (only 3 days) so I’m not sure how this represents the city, but if anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

I’m not sure how I missed this, but I forgot to blog about my trip to Barcelona, Spain. But I did. So now I’m correcting my mistake.
I went to Barcelona right after visiting the South of France with my family in the summer of 2009. Barcelona was hot, hot like the sun. And, unfortunately our introduction to the city was a backpack containing a computer, two phones, a flip camera and clothing being stolen in our hotel lobby, so we didn’t start off our trip on a great foot.
That being said, I’d love to go back and give Barcelona a chance to get back on my good side.
Here are some pictures from Mercat St. Josep on La Rambla. One thing we did manage to notice is that Barcelona is a bright beach city that is full of life, good food, sangria (!) and intriguing places everywhere you turn.
